2004 AQHA Buckskin stallion DEVIL ON A HIGH. Very special horse w/ quite a story. He was an orphan at 3 weeks 5days.And wouldn't take milk of any kind.Ate his dams food, hay,& drank water, but very slowly. He finally came out of his depression,& even bonded with my riding mare &her foal.Eventually being turned loose on pasture with them to run &grow. Then tragically-at only 4 months old-he came whinnying & ran up to see me,w/ a horrible wound. He had literally skinned his entire back!I almost thought about putting him down just for his bad luck, let alone the pain. But after all he had been through,& the fact that he didn't act like he was miserable,I couldn't.He always had a look in his eye,& a fortitude I have never seen. And now though a bit small for his pedigree & age-has blossomed into a,beautiful, happy horse!Sorry about the book-but I wanted to share his story.
